Most of my family have been members since the early 1970's.They attend 3 meetings per week, fly or drive to summer assemblies, preach the average 10 hours per month, and read the same boring Watchtower Magazine week after week. The congregation has lost nearly all the young teens, many have quit attending all the meetings, some divorced, and some members just going thru the motions. I'm never going to question them on why they still remain members but shouldn't all the promises of "this generation never dying" make them question the WTS.... just a little? Besides promises.....what does the WTS offer?

What do you feel is the reason the WTS succeeds in retaining its members?

Q 10. What must we do to keep our faith strong? 10. Read Romans 10:17. To attain and maintain strong faith, a Christian must keep meditating on the precious truths found in God's Word. "The faithful and discreet slave" has provided many fine publications. Three exceptional books are The Greatest Mall Who Ever Lived, Leam From the Great Teacher, and "Come Be My Follower," volumes that are designed to help us get to know Christ better and thus be in a position to imitate him. (Matt. 24:45-47) The slave class also arranges for meetings, assemblies, and conventions, many of which highlight "the word about Christ."
Do you see any ways in which you could take greater advantage of these as you pay "more than the usual attention" to what God provides?-Heb.
2:1.The only way to attain and maintain strong faith according to the writer is to ''read all the fine publications provided from ''the faithful and discreet slave,'' attend all the meetings, assemblies, conventions, and meditate on God's word.''
A couple of questions they don't have an answer to is: From the time the last Apostle died to the time Charles Taze Russell appeared, were there any people on earth who were faithful? If there were, what meetings did they attend and what publications did they read? Would reading only the Bible given them a strong faith? Jesus said,''I will be with you until the end of time." Did he skip this period because ''the faithful and discreet slave'' were given their duty after 1914?

Q 2. Young people today face what secular influences concerning their future?
2. You young ones in the Christian congregation, have you made a dedication to Jehovah? Many may find the choice to serve the true God difficult to make. Business leaders, educators, and sometimes family members and friends point youths toward materialistic goals. When young people pursue spiritual goals, the world often scorns them. But the fact is that serving the true God is the best way of life you can pursue. (Ps. 27:4) In this regard, consider three questions: Why should you serve God? How can you succeed in leading a life of dedication to God despite what others may say or do? What wonderful opportunities of sacred service can open up for you?
Business leaders, educators, family members, and friends do not tell young people that getting a good education leads to materialistic goals. They stress that getting a good education leads to better pay, better working conditions, better benefits, better future opportunities, less physical demanding jobs, earlier retirement, and job stability.
Never have I heard a teacher, parent, family member, business owner ever stress that the benefits of a good education lead to you towards the benefits of a nicer car, larger house, more vacations, and stocks and bonds.
What the WTS want are members who peddle their magazines in the name of God! Never forget that pioneering for the WTS corporation WILL HAVE YOU SUCCEED in these last days.
Thank you BLONDIE for your hard work!

There is an Elder that has been after me for many years to go out in service, have a Bible Study, and attend more meetings to no avail. I know he doesn't like me and that's fine with me.
Often,he walks past me pretending he doesn't see me. One time, I was talking to my mom at the hall and he walks over. Here is the exact conversation FROM THE CONDESCENDING ELDER:
Elder : ''Mrs. ___'',''you seem to be doing better than your son.''
Mom: " Oh,no brother ____'' I have too many health problems to be doing better than my son."
Elder : '' I wasn't talking about health."

The ''truth'' that lead me to question the WTS.
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe truth that leads to eternal life says on page 13:.
we need to examine, not only what we personally believe, but also what is taught by any religious organization with whichwe may be associated.
are its teachings in full harmony with god's word, or are they based on the traditions of men?

Are its teachings in full harmony with God's Word, or are they based on the traditions of men? If we are lovers of the truth, there is nothing to fear from such an examination.
WTS traditions that really made me question: Why 3 meetings per week?....Why is field servive mandatory?....Baptizing children(why can't they wait until they are 18years old.... Why do I need to always go on field service with magazines and books printed by the WTS?.....Why are there dress codes for meetings ?......
What are some ''traditions of men'' that lead you to question the WTS?

Are there any contracts signed between the WTS and its members?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini don't remember if i signed any papers stating that i would be a member of the jehovah's witnesses when i was baptized 30 years ago.
do elders, ministerial servants, pioneers,or bethel workers ever sign a contract stating what position they will hold?
if no contracts are ever signed, how can the wts enforce disfellowshipping of any of its members?

My cousin bought a new $800 suit downtown and went straight to the Ministry School meeting and hung it on the coat rack. He went home that evening and forgot the suit. The Kingdom Hall was locked for the night so he waited until the morning. He called a brother that had keys and went back the next evening. The suit was gone. Someone took the suit. ( so much for honesty in the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses )

RULES & REGULATIONS
According to the WTS, marriage and having children causes: Upheavals in family life would be among the things "hard to deal with" in these critical "last days." (2 Tim. 3:1-4) Being married to someone-even a fellow Christian-who turns out to be very different from what you expected can definitely be difficult. (1 Cor. 7:28) Some couples who marry young find themselves expecting a child when they themselves are barely out of adolescence. They have not really had time to get to know each other properly before the arrival of the baby, who requires attention 24 hours a day. When the newborn quite naturally becomes the primary object of the mother's attention, the young husband may feel jealous. Furthermore' sleepless nights can create tension and stress that put a strain on the couple's relationship. They suddenly realize that they have lost much of their freedom. Now they cannot go places and do things as freely as they did before. How should they view their changed situation? Raising a child involves years of self-sacrifice. It is a big investment in time and energy. The benefits of staying single or childless for a Noble Purpose according to the WTS: Hence, some Christians choose to remain single for life or they decide to remain single for some years before marrying. Commendably, they do not take advantage of the freedom that singleness brings to pursue selfish interests. Many remain single in order to serve Jehovah "without distraction." (Read 1 Corinthians 7:32-35.) Some single Christians serve as pioneers or Bethelites. A number seek to extend their usefulness to Jehovah's organization by qualifying to attend the Ministerial Training School. In fact, those who served as full-time ministers for some time while single and then later decided to marry often feel that their marriage is still benefiting from the valuable lessons they learned during those early years. In some parts of the world, yet another change in family life has occurred-numerous couples have decided to remain childless. Some do so for economic reasons; others do it because they want to be free to pursue a lucrative career. Among Christians, there are also couples who refrain from having children. However, they often do so to be freer to serve Jehovah. This does not mean that such couples do not enjoy a normal married life. They do. Still, they are willing to place Kingdom interests above some of the privileges that go with marriage. (1 Cor. 7:3-5) Some of those couples serve Jehovah and their brothers in the circuit and district work or at Bethel. Others serve as pioneers or as missionaries. Jehovah will not forget their work and the love they show for his name.-Heb. 6:10. BLONDIE: The society just wants you to stay single and serve Jehovah (slave for the society). -
